Alright, I’m a console woman through and through. I also enjoy a good handheld as well.

Which means I have plenty of experience with Nintendo.

I’ve had most of the Gameboys, still do. I have the Switch as well.

But here’s the thing, I have all the PlayStations. Or at least, I have one version of every generation of PlayStation. It was the system I grew up with and the one I’m most familiar with.

With those consoles, I have access to almost any game I want, if it was made for the PlayStation. And in general, I’m pretty happy with that.

However, I’ve learned some things recently.

Nintendo actually competed for top dog with Xbox and PlayStation with the Gamecube and while it sold terribly, it is now beloved console. It also outdid both Xbox and PlayStation in terms of spec, which is an impressive feat.

Something that got me curious about it.

Since I have a love of console gaming, this pique my interest. I also do love Nintendo.

I have the Switch, which I love. I had the Wii before that, and I played the NES as a kid because my dad still had his from his childhood. I loved Duck Hunt and one day, I will make it so I can play that game again.

Until then, I have a Retron that allows me to play all the Nintendo games up until just before the N64. A modern hook-up that skips all the weird connective issues for modern TVs. I love it.

Since I’ve loved all the systems from Nintendo. I figure a Gamecube should spark some love too, right?

Except, if you’ve read my walk down memory lane, you’ll know I had a cousin who soured the gaming world for me a bit. Well, the console we played on at his house that he tried so hard to cheat with was an Gamecube.

In the indigo blue.

Every time I ever saw one, I thought of him.

Until lately.

I’ve been watching a YouTuber called Chase After The Right Price. The Gamecube is his favorite console and his love for it shines through the screen so much. It’s hard not to be curious about what makes it great to him.

Not to mention, his utter honesty when it comes to all things gaming, makes me consider his opinion even more.

And should I really let my sour feelings about my cousin affect anything, anymore?

Nope.

But is it worth it?

To add another console to my collection? To collect more games? To play Metroid? Paper Mario? And so many more that look like so much fun.
